If you are not happy with the amount of traffic your website is getting you may want to hone your focus in on web marketing. There are many paid and free ways to market your website – this post is focusing on the latter. With a little time and elbow grease you will have more traffic to your site with some of the tips below.
1) Make sure your website is optimized
You need more than just a website for your business. You need to make sure that it is built with search engine optimization in mind and is converting well. The more you pay attention to SEO the easier it will be when you start your SEO campaign. Don’t forget about conversions either, what good is getting traffic to your site if people are coming to it and not buying/subscribing/contacting you? Make sure your site looks attractive and entices visitors to complete your goals and convert.
2) Start a blog
If you want people to buy your services or products you need to establish trust with them and a blog will do just that. Visitors will come to your site, see your blog and this will give them insight into your and your company while making visitors realize that there is a real person on the other side of the screen.
3) Network
They say its not so much what you know but who you know and this definitely has some truth to it. Make connections. Attend networking events. Talk to people. The internet may be a great way to connect with people, but meeting in person will always build a stronger bond.
4) Social Media
Create some social media accounts and tie them in with your website. Use your social media accounts to communicate with people and share advice. Don’t spam or try to promote your business or sell your products.
5) Genuinely try to help
With all of the tips above it is important to note that you should be focusing on building relationships and helping people, not focusing on hawking a product or service. People know when they are being sold to. Work on providing value and if/when a person is ready to buy what you are selling you just may be at the top of their list.
